The Lake Constance region is known for being favored by the climate. On the one hand, there is the southern location. The balancing effect of the water is added. And the protected position in the lee of the Black Forest. Föhn weather tends to occur at Lake Constance between late fall and spring - and then much more pronounced in the east than in the west. All this ensures that Lake Constance offers the longest travel time for cyclists in Germany after the Upper Rhine Graben. The annual rainfall is not exactly low compared to other regions in Germany. But there are serious differences: the closer the mountains are to the lake, the more precipitation falls. Bregenz, for example, gets more than 1500 liters per year – in Constance, on the other hand, it's just under 950 liters.
