Affenberg Salem

A wild experience!

Affenberg Salem

Nowhere else in Germany can you experience so many monkeys without separating moats or bars. Over 200 Barbary macaques – a species threatened with extinction – cavort in the 20-hectare forest area. It's only a short detour from the Lake Constance cycle path. And it's great fun for children of all ages.

New on the Salem Monkey Mountain is the "Treewalk". It leads up to a height of twelve metres over suspension bridges and platforms through the treetops of the old beech forest. From here you can watch the bright animals climbing - simply fascinating. Are you free from giddiness? Then take courage!

Or explore the Affenberg Salem on Lake Constance and its fascinating biodiversity on an interactive scavenger hunt, which you can experience with a smartphone app. Your task: find the missing monkey princess "Amia", who escaped during a storm. Immerse yourself in this exciting search, surrounded by around 50 pairs of free-flying storks, almost 200 Barbary macaques and a lively herd of fallow deer, and experience the Affenberg in a whole new way.
