Family cycling tour at Lake Constance

When you arrive in Constance, bring your luggage to our office before 10 a.m. so that you can start your Family cycling tour at Lake Constance straight away. If you have a longer journey to Constance, we will be happy to book an extra night for you. Cycle in the direction of Wallhausen. If you like, you can stop off at the flower island of Mainau on the way. Take the boat from Wallhausen to Überlingen. Enjoy a delicious portion of ice cream there before cycling to the pile dwellings in Unteruhldingen. Meersburg is just a few kilometers away. You will spend the night in Uhldingen or Meersburg.

Meersburg Castle is the oldest inhabited castle in Germany. It towers majestically over the shores of Lake Constance and takes visitors back to the Middle Ages. Right next door is the New Castle. Enjoy the view of the lake from the garden terrace before hopping on your bike towards Friedrichshafen. Once in Friedrichshafen, you can visit the Zeppelin Museum. Look up from time to time and you might spot a zeppelin in the sky, hovering silently over the lake.

Extensive orchards lie on today's stage of your Family cycling tour at Lake Constance on your way to Lindau. Numerous bathing spots invite you to take a break along the way. While your children splash around in the crystal-clear water, take in the Alpine panorama: The snow-covered peaks seem to rise straight out of the water. A break in Langenargen is also worthwhile: it is home to one of the oldest suspension bridges in Germany! The stage almost cycles itself. You have reached your destination for the day in Lindau. Explore the charming old town island and climb the new lighthouse at the harbor – panoramic views included!

Today you cycle through three countries! It is only a few kilometers from Lindau to Bregenz in Austria. The town is famous for its annual summer festival, which has an international reputation. There is also a cable car from Bregenz to the Pfänder. From here you can enjoy the view of countless Alpine peaks and Lake Constance. Next to the summit is the Alpine Wildlife Park. On a tour, you will discover dwarf goats, ibex and red deer. Back on the bike, you pass the Rhine delta. Welcome to Switzerland! You spend the night in Rorschach or Arbon.

Leaving Rorschach and Arbon behind you, you reach Romanshorn. Wave after the ferry to Friedrichshafen with your children. Do you recognize the harbour on the other side of the river? Your children, in particular, will now be mighty proud of the cycle route they have already covered. Before heading back to Constance, you can take a long swim or ice cream break at one of the lidos along the way. Full of new impressions, your Family cycling tour at Lake Constance ends at our Constance office and your departure is imminent.
