From our guests Anja and Peter
Anja and Peter decided to take the popular cycle tour around Lake Constance in the fall.
They started the tour in Constance and cycled back to Constance via Radolfzell, Friedrichshafen, Höchst and Romanshorn - along the water and through three countries.
The two of them were particularly impressed by the fantastic landscapes and idyllic little towns! And they were very lucky to experience a picture-book October...
Arrival in Constance:
When we arrived at the hotel in Konstanz-Litzelstetten, we unfortunately found out that the parking lot we had booked was far away from the hotel. After we went to the parking lot, we were greeted by a very friendly and competent RADWEG-REISEN employee, who immediately canceled our parking space booking and we were able to park our car directly in the hotel's underground garage. We had the overpaid money back in our account before the end of our tour. Great service!
Day 1: Constance - Radolfzell
Unfortunately, our first day began with heavy fog over Lake Constance. However, we were lucky and the sun was already shining in the cozy Swiss town of Berlingen. What a wonderful view!
We continued along apple orchards in bright sunshine towards Stein am Rhein, where we treated ourselves to a break in the beer garden. This town with its fantastically designed house facades is highly recommended.
We cycled further along the shores of the Höri peninsula - with a wonderful view of the very natural Lake Constance - to Radolfzell. We received a friendly welcome at our hotel and checked into our room.
Day 2: Radolfzell - Friedrichshafen
After a hearty breakfast, we set off on our second stage towards Friedrichshafen. After about 15 km to warm up, we arrived back at Lake Constance in Ludwigshafen.
After a detour to the Birnau pilgrimage church, we cycled along vineyards to Uhldingen. There we devoted ourselves to the local cultural heritage site, the pile dwellings.
Today we took our lunch break in the pretty old town of Meersburg. In the beer garden, we were able to watch the winegrowers bringing in their harvest. We continued between the vineyards via Hagnau and Immenstaad to Friedrichshafen.
Day 3: Friedrichshafen - Höchst
The next morning, the view from the hotel window made us look forward to the tour. We had planned to enjoy the view from the Pfänder. In bright sunshine and with a wonderful view, we took some wonderful pictures from the observation tower at the harbor pier in Friedrichshafen.
We then cycled off in the direction of Höchst. We passed many orchards on our way through the beautiful town of Lindau. On Austrian soil, we reached Bregenz directly along the lake. Together with our bikes, we took the Pfänderbahn to the summit.
The view of Lake Constance and the Alps from the Pfänder was breathtaking and the highlight of our tour!
The subsequent descent of around 7 km with alternating views of Lake Constance, the Alps and picturesque villages made our brakes glow. Once back in Bregenz and refreshed in the harbor, we wanted to see the narrowest house facade in Europe. A stop at the lake stage was also a must. With many wonderful impressions in our luggage, we now headed for our next overnight stay in Höchst.
Day 4: Höchst - Constance
On the last day of our tour, we started in the Rhine delta and crossed the Alter Rhein nature reserve. We cycled along the Swiss side of the river through the picturesque towns of Rorschach, Arbon, Romanshorn and Kreuzlingen. After a refreshment stop in the port of Constance, we continued on to the flower island of Mainau.
We booked an extra day for the extensive exploration of the town of Friedrichshafen and the Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen and used the bus and boat for this.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, we can say that it was a successful vacation, which was fantastically organized. From the travel documents provided to the service and luggage transfer, everything was perfect and worked perfectly.
We thank the team at RADWEG-REISEN.
